Workshop Policy
- Government ID Required at Check-In.
- All attendees must be 21 and older.
- Never use the shop alone. Use during shop supervision hours.
- DO NOT perform a task you are uncomfortable with. Talk to shop supervisor for guidance.
- Workshop attendees must wear and supply their own safety shoes, eye protection and gloves:
- Closed toed shoes are required.
- Eye protection is required when construction is taking place in the shop
- Secure all loose clothing and long hair. Loose hair must be tied back or covered to keep away from entanglement.
- Dust masks and earplugs should purchased at your discretion.
- Long Pants are recommended.
- Hoodies are prohibited in the workshop due to safety purposes.
- No toxic fumes inside the shop.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Call 911 in the case of any emergency. Report injuries to shop supervisor.
- Do not leave projects and property in the workshop.
Workshop Rules
- Ensure shop is clean before beginning work.
- Clean up after yourselves.
- No food or liquid in the workshop.
- Brooms and shop-vac are provided if needed.
- Do not remove any tools or equipment from the shop.
- Refer to Shop Safety Rules & Policy to avoid injuries. But, in case of injuries:
- First aid kit is available in the workshop space.
- If debris gets in eyes, wash thoroughly in eye wash station for at least 15 minutes. If problem persists get professional help.
- Call 911 in the case of a serious injury.
- Keep walkways and workspaces stable and clear. No extension cords across walkways, or tools balanced precariously on the edge of tables or shelves
- Use tools and machines only for their intended purpose. If unsure, ask.
